Tracking, Mixing, Mastering, Production
At The Parlor, issues like “fix it in the mix” will never be issues again. The stellar combination of our room, microphones, preamps, outboard, and keys/amps/drums will give your music one thing guaranteed from day one: tone.
Right off the bat, your tracks will sound like a record. Playback will put a smile on everyone’s face, instead of having to search all day for that elusive sound. Leave the studio knowing you got the goods and that your mixes will come together faster and with more cohesion. Whether you end up mixing with us on the console or on a home Pro Tools rig, we promise that tracking with us will save you time and money in the long run.
Speaking of mixing, you will be amazed at what a finely-tuned vintage Neve console can do for your music at mixdown. Even if your tracks were recorded on a DIY budget in a less than optimum acoustic space, the console just makes everything that goes through it better.
It’s fatter than any Pro Tools mix you’ll ever hear, and has a weight and separation that digital has never been able to achieve. The top-end is crisp and clear when needed, but never harsh. The 8078 also has four-band EQ modules for maximum sound sculpting, as well as being outfitted with Flying Faders II automation. It’s literally the ultimate mixing machine.
Our long-term goal was to build a separate mastering room, and while that is still in the cards for the future, we saw a void in the mastering needs of our clients that had to be filled immediately.
So we loaded up a mastering desk with the finest in equipment from Manley, Dangerous, Buzz, and Burl, put it on wheels, and move it in front of the Neve whenever mastering needs to be done. When not in use, it stays conveniently off to the side. Being able to master on Barefoot MiniMain 12’s with subs in a ruler flat control room means we know exactly what is happening sonically with your music and that it will translate perfectly on any system.
Everyone who works at The Parlor is also a musician. Turning knobs is fun but music is what makes it all possible. We pride ourselves on being a very musical team, and clients should feel free to call upon any of our services if they want to enhance their existing ideas or create entirely new ones from scratch.
If you need more than just a button-pusher, we can help you with how your track is produced sonically, help with the arranging (including strings and horns), play anything from drums to keys to guitar and bass, program beats and make loops, and co-write anything from a simple melody to a full-blown song collaboration. You’re getting access to more than just an engineer with your studio rate so please don’t be afraid to ask for any contributions if you are looking for them. It would be our pleasure to help you create your music.
